Training future Korean medicine doctors to perform bee venom acupuncture and obtain informed consent using an objective structured clinical examination

Objectives: This study describes the implementation of a training course that aimed to increase competency undergraduate students Korean medicine at single college obtain informed consent and perform bee venom acupuncture using an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE).Methods: We developed implemented short for 111 fourth-year during their rotation Department Acupuncture Moxibustion Medicine. Lectures were conducted on effects hypersensitivity reactions acupuncture, obtaining consent, performing skin test acupuncture. Due COVID-19 pandemic, some offered online lectures, could not experience performance OSCE in person. A survey with 16 closed three open questions was used investigate self-efficacy, opinions about OSCE.Results: Out questionnaires, 104 completed (94%). Students generally satisfied lectures OSCE. For subjective questionnaire what helpful techniques OSCE, authenticity teaching method recorded highest.Conclusions: showed effective skills It is necessary produce standard educational materials Medicine, studies analyze reliability validity are needed.
